FanNation/Giants Country/Giants On SI (SI.com)
In late September 2021, I was surprised with a message on my LinkedIn from an editorial director over at SI.com, reaching out to me about an opportunity with a digital publisher within their “FanNation” network. Simply seeing the message with Sports Illustrated in it, let alone my continued search at the time for any meaningful work in the industry, made my eyes open and want to read the message. They were looking for a young writer to join their New York Giants publisher, Giants Country, to contribute writing and other forms of coverage towards their efforts of being the official Giants beat for the company’s FanNation network.
I was interested, sent in some materials, had a couple phone calls with the senior writer, and the rest is history.
Being able to gain my first real experience post-graduation in the sports media field with a brand like SI and FanNation is something I am grateful and excited for. In my first days with Giants Country, I am helping their gameday coverage through providing pieces such as Notebooks/Takeaways and am covering stories from press briefings throughout the week from Giants coaches and players.
